Don't forget Bobby
For 17 years, Redskins Hall of Famer Bobby Mitchell has been hosting the largest assembly of sports hall of famers outside of Cooperstown and Canton the weekend following July 4.

It's his Hall of Fame Golf Classic to benefit leukemia research. This year, Mitchell raised more than $700,000 for charity despite the fact that Tiger stole his show.
Mitchell's people did their best to gain publicity for the event, even scheduling a breakfast at Bethesda Country Club on Friday before the tournament out at Landsdowne over the weekend. And what did the folks at Tiger's tournament do for Bobby? They made his tee time opposite the breakfast on Friday morning so that everybody had to be at Congressional and not at Bethesda.
This is typical of the way Bobby Mitchell has been ignored over the years, except by those who he played with, and they continue to come out and support Bobby diligently.
Tiger's tournament was a great event and those who worked tirelessly to pull it off in a matter of months should be commended. But so should Bobby Mitchell, who does it year in and year out with as much of an all-star cast as Tiger had.
