Tragedy Strikes in Alabama
I spent part of my childhood living in Texas, right in the middle of tornado alley. I remember our disaster drills in fourth grade. Teachers herded my class into the girls' bathroom -- probably to get away from the windows.
Fortunately, no tornado ever hit our area. But I can't help but think that the kids in Enterprise, Alabama, could've been anyone. They were gathered in what was deemed the safest part of the school building -- yet it wasn't enough to withstand nature's fury.
